I have been patiently waiting for the hoar frost this winter… waiting… and waiting… At last, I awoke to the beauty of it last Wednesday morning! It was like looking out into a dream land, so gorgeous! As per usual, I always do a monthly photo for Dylann since she was born. I was due for her 10 month photo, so this was perfect timing!
I quickly drove Parker to school while admiring the beautiful trees covered in snow and frost and planning out my shoot. By the time I got back home, it was time for Dylann’s nap, which was good, since I still had to plan out an outfit for her and think of a good location.
As the morning went on, I peaked outside and realized that the frost was already melting away. Que frantic-run-around-like-crazy-and-throw-everything in a bag mode. I quickly grabbed Dylann, changed her, and buckled her into the car. Off we went… but I still had no idea where I was going!
I ended up just driving down the block to the open fields behind us and finding a nice little area that still had quite a bit of frost on the shaded side of the trees. I pull over down the road, carry Dylann (in her car seat) across the snowy field and start laying out a blanket for her. I’m just about to unbuckle her and take her out when I notice she’s missing her toque… and there was a bit of a cool breeze, so I needed that dang toque!! I knew I packed it, so off I go running back to the car, grabbing the toque, and running back into the field. I’m sure if any passersby had seen me, they would have thought I was some weirdo running around in the snow with my baby in her car seat… lol.
Finally, after all that hustle, I was able to get the photo I wanted. It was so worth it and I can’t wait to frame one of these!
We make gorgeous children
